Privacy policy
Last updated: June 4, 2026
At DocuMixa we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we process when you use the site and our tools, for what purposes, and what rights you have. It applies to users in any country; where relevant we respect Ecuador's Personal Data Protection Act (LOPDP) and the EU GDPR.
This document is indicative and provided in good faith; it is not legal advice. We recommend having a professional review it before relying on it, especially regarding payments and data-protection law.
Data controller
The controller is whoever operates DocuMixa (an individual or the company behind the project). For any privacy matter you can write to hola@documixa.com; if a company operates the Service, its legal name and address will be stated here.
Files you process
The files you upload are used only to perform the task you request and are processed temporarily: they are deleted automatically after processing, and many tools run directly in your browser so the file never leaves your device. We don't use your files to train artificial intelligence, and we don't sell or share them.
Account and payments (Pro plan)
If you sign in with an external provider or by email, we process your email, name and profile picture when the provider makes them available, to identify you. If you subscribe to Pro, payment is handled by PayPhone or Stripe: we don't store your card details; we only keep transaction or subscription identifiers, amount, currency, status and dates to grant access and manage billing.
Analytics and advertising
We may use Google Analytics (aggregate site usage) and Google AdSense (ads), which may use cookies. These technologies are enabled only if you accept them in the cookie notice; they are denied by default (Consent Mode v2).
Purposes and legal basis
We process data to provide the service you request (performance of a contract), to show ads and analytics (your consent), to ensure security and improve the site (legitimate interest), to manage the Pro plan (contract), and to comply with legal obligations (e.g. accounting and tax).
Who we share data with
We rely on providers acting as processors or independent controllers: Google (Analytics, AdSense and sign-in if configured), other sign-in providers we enable, Stripe and PayPhone (payment processing), and hosting and database providers (such as Vercel and Neon). Each processes data under its own policy.
Retention
Files are kept only temporarily and deleted automatically. Account data is kept while you keep your account. Payment data is kept for as long as applicable tax and accounting rules require.
International transfers
Some of our providers are located outside your country of residence. In those cases the transfer relies on the safeguards each provider offers (for example, standard contractual clauses).
Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to hola@documixa.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Ecuador, the data-protection authority; in the EU, your national authority).
Minors and security
The Service is not directed at minors without their legal guardian's consent. We apply measures such as HTTPS, automatic deletion and file validation; even so, no system is completely infallible.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service or in the law. We will publish the current version with its last-updated date.
