How to split a PDF and extract only the pages you need
Only need a few pages of a long PDF? Here's how to split it and extract exactly what you want in seconds.
Published on June 3, 2026
Sometimes a PDF carries far more than you need: a 40-page contract where only three matter, or a report where you want to send a single chapter. Splitting the document and keeping just the right pages makes it lighter and easier to share, and you don't need to install anything.
When splitting a PDF makes sense
- To send only the section the other person cares about.
- To separate invoices or receipts that arrived in a single file.
- To reduce the weight and email it without exceeding the limit.
Steps to split your PDF
- Open the split PDF tool and upload your file.
- Enter the page range you want to extract (for example, 3 to 7).
- Process and download a new PDF with only those pages.

Extract pages or split your PDF by ranges.
What if I want to remove pages instead?
If you'd rather keep almost the whole document and only delete a few pages (a blank cover, a duplicate sheet), the delete-pages tool suits you better, as it leaves the rest intact.
As with the rest of DocuMixa, the process is temporary: your file is deleted automatically afterwards and is never indexed or shared.
